What Sets Us Apart A speech - language pathologist is the health-care professional educated and trained to evaluate and treat children and adults with speech, language, and swallowing problems. Because communication is the essence of social existence, a serious disorder has profound effects on the individual. All of our therapists hold a master's degree, are PA licensed and have earned the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech - Language - Hearing Association (ASHA), the national professional, scientific, and accrediting organization responsible for certifying speech-language pathologists. A Physical Therapist is the health-care professional educated and trained in therapeutic exercise and functional training. They diagnose and treat individuals of all ages who have medical or related conditions that limit their abilities to move, reduce pain, restore function and prevent disability. Physical therapists also work in a variety of settings, including hospitals, private practices, outpatient clinics, home health agencies, schools, rehab facilities and nursing homes. All of our physical therapists hold a state license and are board certified. An Occupational Therapist is a skilled professional whose education includes the study of human growth and development with specific emphasis on the social, emotional, and physiological effects of illness and injury.
